SANĀTANA - in Sanskrit - preserves the concept of ethereal, understood as a temporal dimension

not determined by the limits of beginning and end, which is regenerated in a cyclic and infinite flow. “Sanatana” is the first Album by SANĀTANA for the independent label SUPRANU Records.

This work was composed between March and July 2019, contains 6 tracks made through electro-acoustic processing techniques, using sounds recorded during some improvisative and guided sessions with the musician Maria Giovanna Cardia. SANĀTANA investigates "empty" spaces, "elastic" and "perpetual" time. With strictly delicacy it marks the limits and traces the directions of the experience. How a shadow transforms itself before the inquiring gaze, to hide its vital and constitutive nucleus in the dark.

SANĀTANA explores the fluid and the liquid properties of sound to penetrate bodies and sculpt ethereal forms.

SANĀTANA aka Marco Salaris is a musician born in Sardinia in 1988. Noise multi-instrumentalist since young, he soon dedicated himself to Electroacoustic music and radical improvisation with the project Terminale_3, with which in 2014 he published the album I-Son (TiConZero).

His music is rooted in noise and drone music, developing and finding new trajectories more akin to Electroacoustic and Avant-garde music. His creative process is based on improvisational practices, listening and sound processing, typical of electronic music. Graduated in Electronic Music at the Conservatory of Cagliari, his main activities include the composition of music for dance and theater, sound direction, Foley artist; collaborates with Betty's Turquoise Chain, Ottovolante Sulcis, Parallel Coast, ASMED and many others.

SANĀTANA - dal sanscrito - custodisce il concetto di eterno inteso come una dimensione temporale non determinata dai limiti di inizio e fine, che si rigenera in un flusso costante, ciclico e infinito. SANĀTANA è il primo Album di SANĀTANA per l’etichetta indipendente SUPRANU Records.

Questo lavoro è stato composto tra Marzo e Luglio 2019, contiene 6 tracce realizzate attraverso tecniche elettroacustiche di elaborazione del suono, utilizzando come materiale sonoro di partenza le registrazioni di alcune sessioni improvvisative e guidate con la musicista Maria Giovanna Cardia.

SANĀTANA indaga gli spazi “vuoti”, il tempo “elastico” e il “perpetuo”. Con rigorosa delicatezza marca i limiti e traccia le direzioni dell'esperienza. Come un’ombra si trasforma di fronte allo sguardo indagatore, per celare nell’oscurità il proprio nucleo vitale e costitutivo. SANĀTANA esplora il tempo fluido e le proprietà liquide del suono di compenetrare i corpi e scolpirne forme eteree.

SANĀTANA aka Marco Salaris è un musicista nato in Sardegna nel 1988. Polistrumentista Noise sin dall’adolescenza, si è presto dedicato alla musica Elettroacustica e all’improvvisazione radicale con il duo Terminale_3, con cui nel 2014 ha pubblicato l'Album I-Son (TiConZero).

La sua musica affonda le radici nel noise e nella drone music, sviluppandosi e trovando nuove traiettorie più affini alla musica Elettroacustica e d'avanguardia. Il suo processo creativo si articola attorno alle pratiche improvvisative, di ascolto e di elaborazione del suono, proprie della musica elettronica.

Laureato in Musica Elettronica al Conservatorio di Cagliari, tra le sue attività principali ci sono la composizione di musiche per danza e teatro, regia del suono, Foley artist; collabora con Betty’s Turquoise Chain, Ottovolante Sulcis, Parallel Coast, ASMED e molti altri.
